The Club HOA, August 27th, 2019

Board members in attendance: Jo Anne Hook, Lani Perkins, Nathan Peters

Maintenance

  • We met with the interior designer and reviewed proposals on updating our lobby
  • The board asked for a few updates to the proposal and will continue our review
  • 4th floor painting touch ups have been completed
  • North and east facing balconies have been repainted, except a few remaining units
  • Pest control spraying was completed

Security

We met with the new property manager, Hawthorne Properties, to discuss our concerns on the 3 buildings to our north. Their manager was receptive and appreciated our concerns on safety, cleanliness, and effective screening of the tenants they accept.

Tactically, they agreed to address garbage problems around the buildings, and have implemented more frequent lawn maintenance. They have also implemented additional standards to screen tenant and have been actively evicting known drug distributors.

Strategically, they are working with the city on grants to help fund building upgrades. We also discussed security upgrades to their buildings, such as secured entry, cameras, fencing, and nighttime security guards. They are evaluating these with the owner.

Reminders

  • Please keep balconies clean and tidy—they aren’t intended for storage
  • Garbage bags and shredded paper cannot be put in the recycling bins, please ensure you’re complying with the allowable items
  • All meeting minutes are posted on The Club’s website, www.theclubhoa.com, along with resources and references for maintenance
